We have visited Mr. Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury, a leading expert in alternative energy in Bangladesh, to interview him on latest trend in the market. This was after two years since our last meeting.
He mentioned that Bangladesh is heading for a new stage of solar energy. There is a good progress in off-grid rural areas using state of art technologies: a medium sized solar energy system called “Mini-Grid”.
He also explained us about the new 200 MW solar energy project. The government of Bangladesh is planning to cover 10% of the national electricity generation by alternative energy source. Bangladesh is a good destination to see new ways of green technologies tested in the fields.
