We visited IDCOL (Infrastructure Development Company Limited) to interview them about the latest trend of alternative energy in Bangladesh. This is the second visit for us after one and a half years.
We were able to learn the latest progress on solar irrigation pump, mini-grid, a medium scale solar system covering around 1000 households, and other initiatives. IDCOL is also promoting innovative ideas and technologies, such as a project combining solar power generation and electrical agriculture machines, a new system using smart grid, and etc. They mentioned biomass, biogas, smart grid and meter system as potential areas for collaboration with Japanese companies.
